It consists of the process of generating and managing data of a building under construction, using dynamic software for<strong> modelling buildings in three dimensions and in real time<\/strong>. Using this methodology we can obtain complete information about the building: geometry, spatial relationships, geographical information, as well as the quantities and characteristics of its components.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Introducci\u00f3n a BIM\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RN1JfK6Wi2w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>The main characteristics that we can find by developing this tool are the following: <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Multidisciplinary task<\/strong> BIM enables collaborative work through a single platform in which the different agents involved in the construction process (architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, etc.) can work in the same tool, integrating and sharing information in real time. This improves collaboration between clients and designers during the construction phase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interference check<\/strong>. Before starting to build, we have a complete model with all the information. In this way, we can quickly and safely check whether there is any integration problem between the different elements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integration of 2D and 3D<\/strong>. This methodology integrates the 2 and 3 interconnected dimensions, improving the vision of the global project and avoiding possible errors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the other hand, this new way of working allows for the<strong> automatic generation of all project documentation<\/strong>: budgets, structural planning, etc., achieving an increase in productivity and, therefore, a saving in time and costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Furthermore, through BIM, we can determine the <strong>energy impact<\/strong> of each of the materials that make up the project. In this way, it will be possible to create intelligent buildings that are increasingly integrated with the environment, sustainable and efficient.
